How-To: POST

Following is a rather simple set of posting details on labeling. Follow it aproximately and things'll go a lot smoother.

Journal Posts
Free format. Go crazy, kids. The only hook? Remember that Penceys time does not equal RL time.

School Posting
Posting in the Penceys community requires only the subject line to be labeled. Do that like this: [STUDENTS/TEACHERS]WEEKDAY DATE: subject. A mark is needed to discern if it's a student or teacher post alone: a staff meeting, class, some kids after school: they all have specific teacher or student tags. The Weekday mark is needed to keep things organized: this is the Pencey's weekday/date, not the RL current. And subject would come pretty natural, one would think: Homecoming party, Math/English break, Cutting Physics class, et.c.
ex.: [TEACHERS] SUNDAY 7TH: Staff meeting.

Log Posting
Logs are an excellent way of sharing interaction between characters made via AIM, MSN, or other messengers; a particularly smart way considering you don't have to wait hours for comment responses. Replying to logs posted in Penceys is done out of character: there is no way that your character would know what occurred between the others unless they were there, or were related the story by someone who was. Label logs like this:
Who; Self-explanatory.
When; Self-explanatory.
Where; Self-explanatory.
What; One sentence summary.
Notes; Self-explanatory.

How-To: PLAY

A long overdue post indeed, but better late than never ♥ How, then, does one go about playing at Pencey's? It's a whole lot simpler than it sounds, actually, and there is room for personal modification. This is supposed to be fun for the lot of us, not a mad rule-bound forum or stern faces. A little slip-up or mistake is always okay.

To make things as easy as possible: One day at Pencey's equals to one Real World week. In effect, this means that various holidays, celebrations and other special occurrences in our world does not coincide with those at Penceys. It also means that we'll probably be celebrating the Pencey class' first Christmas together some time spring 2008 xD It allows everyone a fair chance at being active that weekday, and not to miss too much if you have to take a week of hiatus.

At any rate, on Mondays (RL Mondays) each teacher who have a lesson scheduled for that weekday (Penceys weekday), shall make an opening post for it, allowing all students to play in it. Perhaps even have a lecture, or teach your fellow players something, what have you. More than anything else, it's to uphold the feeling of "school" as opposed to "underaged dating service". As for students: you are also allowed to make posts, of course, albeit these are to take place after school, during breaks between classes, or at any other time your character would be free - ergo, you as a person may make them at any time, but they have to be labeled properly as "break between maths and physics" and so on: more on labeling later.
Make sure to know the schedule, so that when Axel skips out on the last class, Aïs doesn't tell the teacher who has the first that morning. You're allowed to be active in all classes and breaks simultaneously.

I understand that this sounds very confusing, but I assure you it's a whole lot easier than I make it sound. Feel free to direct questions towards Vincent-mod, or post them here, and I'll do my best to explain. I promise that as soon as you see the system in action it'll make a lot more sense. For those of you who know of/play at [info]landels_redux, this is quite similar to that; the only difference being that shifts/days are one RL week long rather than indefinite.
